Ladakh offers a number of sightseeing options for the visitors. A historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, it is dominated by the nine-storey palace built by King Singge Namgyal in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, it is said to have inspired the famous Potala in Lhasa which was built about half acentury later. Sightseeing of the historic monuments and major Buddhist monasteries are the main attractions of Ladakh. We have designed this package for you to experience the culture and people of Ladakh. We will takeyou to some of the most famous monasteries in the region, typically built onlone rock or craggy mountain faces, built by different rulers.
Day 01 : Arrive DelhiUpon arrival at Delhi airport transfer to the hotel for night stay.
Day 02 : Delhi - Leh (Flight)
After breakfast transfer to Delhi airport to board flight to Leh. On arrival at Leh airport, you will be met by our representative at the airport and transfer to hotel. Complete day for the acclimitization which is 3500 mabove sea level. In the evening short work around the Leh bazar Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Leh - Monasteries (90 kms)
Full day excursion to Ladakh famous monasteries, it is interesting to visit early in the morning to enjoy the praying ceremony at Thiksey monastery.Continue drive to Hemis monastery which is one of the most famous monastery of the Ladakh region.. On the way back visit Shey Palace. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Leh - Monasteries (40 kms)
Morning half day tour of Spituk and visit Phyang Monastery. Afternoon visit by foot to Kings Palace, Leh Mosque, Leh Gompa, Shankar Gompa and Leh Bazar.Overnight at hotel .
Day 05 : Leh - Khardongla Pass - Leh (85 kms)
Day excursion to Khardongla pass which is the highest motorable pass in the world at 5600 m and has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.At the top enjoy the nature beauty of snow capped mountains. In the late afternoon return back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 : Leh - Alchi (72 kms) Leave for Alchi monastery known as Alchi Choskor is the only monastery inthe Ladakh on flat ground. On the way visit Bazgo Castle lie on the rightbank of the Indus. By the lunch time we reach Alchi. Afternoon visit theAlchi monastery and explore the natural beauty of Alchi village. Overnightat hotel/Guest House.
Day 07 : Alchi - Lamayuru - Leh (168 kms)
Leave Alchi and continue drive to Lamayuru via Khaltsi (passport checking point). From here another 22 kms drive will take us to Lamayuru. The oldest and spectacularly set Lamayuru monastery founded in the 10th Century. Visit the monastery. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh which is 4/5 hours drive. Overnight at hotel .
Day 08 : Leh - Stok Palace
Morning half day visit to Stok Palace. The Palace was built by King Tsespal Tondup Namgyal in 1825. On the way back visit the Choglamsar village (Tibetan refugee Camp) which is famous for Tibetan Culture, History and Buddhism. Afternoon day for personal activities or visit to the Local Ladakhi family house which can be arranged on request. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 : Leh - Delhi
In time transfer to the airport to board flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport transfer to the hotel for rest and night stay.
Day 10 : Leave DelhiIntime transfer to the airport to board flight to onward destination
