This tour takes you to one of the fascinating hill state of India, Himachal Pradesh. Why called Heritage Tour? Shimla the summer capital of colonial British India where you can see some of the heritage buildings lined up in the mall and ridge road. Chail take an opportunity to stay in Palace hotel which was once a royal residence of Maharaja of Patiala. In Manali see the 16th century Hadimba temple, Mcleodgang abode of Dalai Lama. All these makes these destinations make it called Himachal Heritage Tour.
Day 01: Arrival Delhi.
On arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport, Delhi, you will meet our representative who will escort you to your pre booked hotel. Night stay at the hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi sightseeing
After lavish buffet breakfast in the hotel meet our informative guide who will take you for the combined sightseeing of old and New Delhi. Sightseeing of Delhi includes Qutab Minar whose construction was started by Qutab Ud din Aibek in 12th century but was completed by illtutmish.Later visit Humayun’s Tomb which was built by Akbar one of the greatest Mughal Emperor for his father Humayun.Drive past President’s House and take a small break at India Gate for photography. After that continue your tour to Old Delhi, drive past Red Fort to visit one of the biggest mosque of India and perhaps in the world Jumma Mosque. Just in front of the mosque is bustling Chandani Chowk (moonlit square) filled with hawkers. You can enjoy a rickshaw ride here. After finishing the old Delhi tour, visit Birla Temple. Later you are free to do shopping at Connaught Place. Night stay at hotel.
Day 03 : Delhi - Chandigarh 275 Km / 05 Hrs
Morning after breakfast drive to Chandigarh which is one of the most beautiful cities of India designed by Le Corbusier. On arrival check in hotel.
Visit the open air exhibition hall at Rock Garden which is a wonderful creation of Nek Chand who collected all the waste materials like broken bangles, mudguard, electric wires and many more to make sculptures. Enjoy boat ride on Sukhna Lake. Evening see how the local folks gather at the shopping centre in 17the sector market. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04 : Chandigarh - Nalagarh 58 Km / 02 Hrs
Morning after breakfast in the hotel depart for Nalagarh considered to be the gateway to Himachal Pradesh. Visit Nalagarh Fort built in the year 1421 AD by Raja Vikram Chand, from here you can have a panoramic view of the Shivalik hills. Rest of the day free to enjoy the soothing ambience. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05 : Nalagarh – Chail 180 Km / 04 Hrs drive
Morning depart for Chail which is a beautiful hill station situated at an altitude of 2250 metres above sea level. Chail was the creation of Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh who was given exile from Shimla due to overtures to Commander in Chief Lord Kitchener’s daughter. So he decided to make his own hill station higher than Shimla. The beauty of Chail lies in Chail Palace which is a paradise for honeymoon couples. Visit one of the highest cricket ground in the world. Rest of the day free to enjoy the quiet and serene ambience of Chail.
Day 06 : Chail – Day Free
After a relaxed morning enjoy the sightseeing of Shimla. Shimla is well known for its natural beauty, architectural buildings, wooden crafts and apples. Visit Kali Bari temple where idol of Godess Shyamala is cherished. Next visit Jakhu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Shimla is described as a frost glistening silent city in winters. If time permits explore the Mall Road. Later drive down to Manali – Himachal’s Silver Valley enroute visit Sundenagar Lake, Kullu valley and Pandoh Dam. Upon arrival transfer to the prebooked Hotel. Overnight Manali.
Day 07 : Chail -Shimla 90 Km / 03 Hrs
Morning leave for Shimla one of the mind soothing hill station of Himachal Pradesh of India. It was a summer capital of colonial India. Shimla nestles in the north western Himalayas among the pine and oak forest. The most interesting place to hang out is Mall road clustered with shops and restaurants. Another place where you can enjoy your stroll is ridge road; take a break at Christ Church. From the ridge you can have a panoramic view of the mountain ranges.
Day 08 : Shimla – Day Free
Half day sightseeing of Shimla will include the highest point Jakhoo hill famous for Hanuman Temple. Also visit Glen forest and Chadwick falls later visit Himachal State museum. Rest of the day free to discover Shimla on your own. Night stay at hotel.
Day 09 : Shimla – Manali 260 Km / 06 Hrs
Today head to Manali situated in the Kullu valley at the confluence of Beas and Manalsu rivers. Famous for the 16th century Hadimba temple.Manali is also renowned for those seeking for some adventure and winter sports. After a long drive day free to relax in your resort.
Day 10 : Manali – Excursion to Rohtang Pass 51 Km / 02 Hrs
Morning drive to one of the highest motorable road Rohtang Pass. The literal meaning of Rohtang in Tibetan language is ‘pile of corpses. The drive from Manali to Rohtang is terrific en route you will have some breathtaking views en route stop at Snow Point. This road connects to Leh from May to November after that it is closed due to heavy snow fall. Capture some of the best moments with natural beauty in your camera. After spending some time return to Manali. Rest of the day free to loiter in and around Manali. Visit Hadimba Devi Temple and some Buddhist monasteries. Night stay at hotel.
Day 11 : Dharamshala – Pragpur
After having some refreshing moments of Manali leave for Dharamshala en route visiting one of the fabulous destination of Kangra valley Palampur.surrounded by snow capped mountain ranges amidst which tea gardens are situated. Overnight stay in your hotel.
Day 12 : Palampur – Dharamshala 35 Km / 01 Hr drive
Morning go for sightseeing of Palampur which is full of colonial buildings. Spare some time to visit tea factory where you can have the first hand experience how the tea is processed. Visit Andrettaa village famous for local handicrafts and where you can see the pottery making art. Also visit Chamunda Devi Temples. Later in the evening drive to Dharamshala. Nights stay in hotel.
Day 13 : Dharamshala
Dharamshala is located in Kangra valley engulfed by thick coniferous forest. Visit Mc Leodgang about 4 kilometers on the upper Dharamshala, world renowned for the teachings of his holiness Dalai Lama who give his teaching here every year. It is also the residence of Dalai Lama. Also visit Kangra Art museum which caters all the rich arts and crafts some of them dating back to 05th century. Rest of the day free to take a walk in the streets and enjoy the serene ambience. Night stay at hotel.
Day 14 : Dharamshala – Pathankot 90 Km – Delhi (Overnight Train)
Today you will be driven to Pathankot to catch your overnight train to Delhi. Overnight on board train.
Day 15 : Delhi /Fly back home
On arrival at railway station you will be received by Max representative who will escort you to the International airport to board your flight back to home carrying sweet memories of the Himalayas.
